WBP MAKES ITS OFFICIAL LAUNCH, ANNOUNCES SIX MAJOR EVENTS IN LATIN AMERICA

The first showcase will be held in Boca Chica from November 19-21 of this year; Panama, Colombia, Puerto Rico and Aruba will be other venues SANTO DOMINGO – The Watch Baseball Players (WBP) machinery started with great expectations and what is to come will be beneficial for amateur baseball in Latin America.

As part of its official launch, held virtually on Tuesday, the top management of the Watch Baseball Players prospect platform announced the holding of its first showcases in the Caribbean, Central and South America area.

From his home in Miami, the former Major League Baseball player, Plácido Polanco, expressed his excitement for the opportunity that represents for young Latinos who play baseball to be able to exhibit themselves before Las Mayores organizations and before scouts from United States universities since the same platform.

“We think there is a need for the Latino player to have a profile on a digital platform. That way it is more exposed so that the scouts of Major Leagues and the coaches of high school or college can see them ”, expressed Plácido through a video call, where coaches and owners of Dominican academies and other countries also participated.

“It is an immense honor for me to belong to this brand (WBP) as a corporate figure,” added the three-time Golden Glove winner in the majors. “I also want to take this opportunity to thank all the chroniclers and all the media that have supported us.”

On his side, the director of operations for Latin America, Robinson Paredes, stressed that the WBP platform will give a second chance to many players who did not sign at age 16 so that they can continue playing and studying.

WBP makes its official launch and announces six major events in Latin America.

“Participating in a platform like this was costing players close to three thousand dollars to travel to the United States, pay for a hotel, rent a vehicle, food, visa, etc. That is why we have brought to the Dominican Republic and to all of Latin America this great opportunity for the boys to be able to show off all their skills on our platform, ”Paredes said.

In addition, he announced that Boca Chica and Santiago will host the first two major WBP events in the Dominican Republic.

Likewise, former Puerto Rican player Joe Rodríguez as part of WBP explained his role as coordinator and liaison with American universities. Thanks to his position as an advance scout, Rodríguez has helped a good number of Latino players get scholarships there.

WBP Showcases Calendar
The first showcase called “Caribbean Baseball Prospects” will be held in the Dominican Republic from November 19 to 21 at the complex where the Atlanta Braves academy previously operated, while the “Platano Power Showcase” will be from 26 to 28 for the region of the Cibao.

In December, WBP will arrive in Panama to showcase the best prospects in the area from 11 to 13, in Panama City, and from there to Colombia to play from 18 to 20 in the last month of the year.
